The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to provide police officers with citations which may be used for the purpose of giving due notice to owners, chauffeurs and drivers of automobiles and other vehicles of a violation of any of the parking provisions of this Traffic Code. Any owner, chauffeur or driver shall comply strictly with the instructions and directions appearing on any citation attached to the vehicle which he or she is or has been parking in violation of this Traffic Code. The citation, when it is attached to a vehicle in a conspicuous place, shall be a legal and sufficient summons and service on the owner, chauffeur or driver of the vehicle to appear at the designated place, date and time and for the purpose specified. However, this section shall not abridge the power of police officers to arrest persons for crimes or to impound vehicles. (Ord. 3356. Passed 11-4-75.)
