339.18 OPERATION AND PARKING ON STREETS AND BRIDGES.
   (a)   Except as provided in this chapter, when appropriate traffic signs are erected and maintained at the entrance to any intersection or bridge, no person shall operate, stop, stand or park a vehicle having a total gross weight in excess of four tons upon any posted street or bridge. This section shall not apply to vehicles owned and operated by the City, to vehicles owned and operated by the public utility companies serving the inhabitants of the City, to vehicles operated for sanitary disposal purposes or to local delivery vehicles.

   (b)   Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
