(a) Dispatchers. There is hereby created the position of Dispatcher within the Police Department. The number of Dispatchers shall be determined by the Director of Public Safety-Service, and shall perform the duties of dispatching and any other clerical duties as prescribed by the Chief of Police. The position of dispatching shall be part time or full time, as determined by the Director of Public Safety-Service.

(b) Part-Time Men. One or more part-time patrolmen may be appointed at the discretion of the Director of Public Safety-Service.

(c) School Patrolmen. School patrolmen shall be paid at an hourly rate.

(d) Additional Men. Nothing in this chapter shall prevent the Mayor from appointing additional patrolmen for temporary service in case of riot or other real emergency.
(e) Relief Personnel. The Safety Director is hereby authorized to employ relief personnel for members of the Department who are temporarily or permanently disabled.
