(a) There is hereby created and established the office of Recreation Director who shall be a subdepartment officer in the office of the Director of Public Safety-Service, and who shall be appointed by the Mayor of the City.
(b) The Recreation Director shall direct and coordinate recreation and park activities, and group community programs within the City, and be responsible for the scheduling of park activities. He shall take directions from and report to the Director of Public Safety-Service.
(c) The Recreation Director shall be assisted by and direct the activities of summer park employees heretofore provided for or to be later provided for by Council.
