1329.03 SMOKE DETECTOR REQUIREMENTS.

Only ionization or photo-electronic type household fire warning devices that are approved by Underwriters Laboratory, Inc. (UL) or Factory Mutual Systems (FM) shall be acceptable. Detectors shall either be powered by 110 volt A.C. electric household current and be hard wired to the electric system, or battery operated.
