(a) No person, firm or corporation shall operate or attempt to operate a taxicab as herein described without a license in accordance with this chapter from Council. Such license may be granted for a period of no more than one year and may be renewed upon expiration of like periods of time. Such license shall be on forms approved by Council. A charge of fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be paid for each license or renewal thereof. Such license may be revoked during the period for which it is issued as hereinafter provided.
(b) A separate license shall be obtained each year for each taxicab operated by any person, firm or corporation upon successful completion of a safety inspection of such taxicab by the Police Department and the payment of a five dollar ($5.00) fee.
(c) Each vehicle used or operated as a taxicab shall be plainly and clearly marked on the exterior thereof with the word "cab" or "taxicab", together with the name of the person, firm or corporation operating the taxicab business in which such taxicab is employed. If such be other than the owner of such taxicab, then the name of the owner thereof shall also be shown thereon in like manner.
