(A) General. The streets and areas described below are designated limited parking zones. When appropriate signs conforming to the requirements of this traffic code are erected, no person shall park a vehicle (on a street or in an area) for any continuous period of time longer than designated in the schedule.

(B) Parking on municipal lots.
(1) Supervision. The municipal parking lots now owned or hereafter acquired or established by the city shall be under the supervision of the Chief of Police.
(2) Use. It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle in any parking lot in violation of any section, or to so park contrary to the rules established by the Common Council of the city for the use of such parking lots, or in any place or manner other than that designated by the Board of Public Works and Safety. No commercial or freight-carrying vehicle shall be parked in the city parking lot unless a special parking permit is obtained from the Chief of Police or his or her assistant, except as provided under division (B)(3)(c) below.
(3) Hours.
(a) Except for the parking lot described in division (B)(3)(c) below, it shall be unlawful to park any car, truck, bus, motorcycle, recreational vehicle or vehicle or husbandry in municipal parking lots for a period of longer than 16 hours in any 24-hour period. In the event that it shall become necessary for a motor vehicle to park for a greater length of time, such person desiring to do so shall first obtain a permit from the Chief of Police of the city.
(b) However, for the parking lot bounded on the west by Third Street, on the east by the adjoining public alley, on the north by City Hall and adjacent premises and on the south by those buildings adjacent to and abutting the south edge thereof, commonly known as the Third Street city parking lot, a two-hour parking limit is hereby established.
(c) For the parking lot bounded on the west by Front Street, on the east by the St. Mary’s River, on the north by Jackson Street and on the south by Monroe Street, commonly known as the Chamber of Commerce parking lot, a 60-hour parking limit is hereby established for commercial and freight carrying vehicles. No trailer shall be uncoupled from the towing vehicle and parked on the lot described in this division (B)(3) or any other lot.
