§ 32.016 USE OF FIRE EQUIPMENT OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS.
   (A)   The City Fire Department shall respond with sufficient equipment to mitigate the incident or emergency safely as deemed necessary by the incident commander, the nature of the call and the availability of personnel and equipment. The incident commander shall be that person defined under National Incident Management System regulations.
   (B)   Costs of a response to an incident outside of the city limits shall be covered under annual contracts entered into by the city and surrounding townships, except for costs incurred related to the response to a hazardous spill incident governed under federal law; in which case, the city shall be entitled to recover its costs related to such response from the responsible parties.
   (C)   Compensation for volunteer firefighters shall be established annually by City Council as set forth in the city’s salary ordinance.
