11-1-1: DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED:
   A.   Use Districts: For the purpose of this chapter, the city is divided into the following use districts:
      Residential
      Multiple dwelling
      Commercial
      Light industrial
      Heavy industrial
   B.   Boundaries: The boundaries, extent and area of each respective district are particularly described in this subsection. Use districts of the city are hereby designated as hereinafter described; provided, that the city council, at any regular meeting held within six (6) months after the adoption of this chapter, may, by resolution adopted by the vote of a majority of the city council, make such changes in designation and description as they deem necessary:
      1.   Residential District: All that part of the city of Dawson and the respective additions thereto not included with the designations hereinafter set forth in this subsection. (1982 Code § 9.311; amd. Ord. 225B, 12-5-1995)
      2.   Multiple Dwelling District: Blocks 41, 42, 49, 50, 53, 57 and 58, blocks 14 to 22 inclusive of Kerwin's addition, all of Hoidale's first addition, all of Hoidale's second addition, lot 1 and the north 30 feet of lot 2, block 1, Ronning's addition and all of block 4, American Legion Memorial addition, all of the city of Dawson.

      3.   Commercial District: Blocks 43, 51, 59 and 60, and the west 1/2 of block 52 of the city of Dawson, and blocks 3, 4, 8, 12, 16 and the east 1/2 of blocks 7, 11, and 15 of first addition to Dawson, and the west 1/2 of block 5 and the west 1/2 of block 7, and lots 10, 11, and 12 in block 7 of Vold's first addition to Dawson, all of block two (2), American Legal Memorial addition, city of Dawson, and that part of outlot 9 of Hoidale's 2nd addition to Dawson, described by metes and bounds as follows, to- wit: commencing at the point of the intersection of the south line of Locust Street, as now laid out and established, and the west line of said outlot nine (9), thence south on and along the said west line a distance of three hundred (300) feet, thence east on a line parallel with the south line of said Locust Street a distance of one hundred forty (140) feet, thence north on a line parallel with the said west line of outlot nine (9) a distance of three hundred (300) feet to the south line of Locust Street, thence west on and along the south line of Locust Street a distance of one hundred forty (140) feet to the point of beginning.

      4.   Industrial District - Heavy, Industrial District - Light: Blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Kerwin's addition to Dawson, and blocks 17, 18, 25, 26, 27, except lots 12 to 20, 28 except lots 1 to 9 inclusive and lots 13 to 21 inclusive, 34, 36, 44, 45, 54, 55, 56, 61, 62, 63, 64 and lots 1 to 10 inclusive in block 43 and the east 1/2 of block 52 of the city of Dawson.
