2-2-4: INTERGOVERNMENTAL ARRANGEMENTS:
With the consent of the mayor, the director shall represent the city on any regional or state organization for emergencies. The director shall develop proposed mutual aid agreements with other political subdivisions within or without the state for reciprocal emergency aid and assistance in an emergency too great to be dealt with unassisted. The director shall present any agreement to the city council for its action. The agreement shall be consistent with the emergency plan. During an emergency, the emergency services agency shall render assistance in accordance with the provisions of the agreement. Any mutual aid agreement with a political subdivision of another state shall be subject to the approval of the governor as provided by law. (1982 Code § 2.474)
