In addition to the following, the commission shall be the planning agency. It shall have the powers and duties given such agencies generally by Minnesota Statutes Annotated sections 462.351 through 462.364 and other provisions of law relating to planning agencies. It shall also exercise the duties conferred upon it by this code. (1982 Code § 2.463)
A. Public Hearings On Zoning Ordinances: The commission shall hold a public hearing upon any proposed zoning ordinance or proposed amendment to a zoning ordinance, as required by Minnesota Statutes Annotated section 462.357. (1982 Code § 2.464)
B. Approval Of Plats: Any subdivision plat submitted to the city council for approval shall, prior to final approval, be referred to the commission for review and recommendation. Any plat so referred shall be returned to the council by the commission with its recommendations within thirty (30) days. If the commission fails to act within that time, the city council may then proceed with its consideration of the plat. (1982 Code § 2.465)
C. Annual Report: On or before January 30 of each year the commission shall submit to the city council a report of its work during the preceding calendar year. (1982 Code § 2.466)
