6-3-1: GENERAL PARKING RESTRICTIONS 1 :
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic control device in any of the following places:
   A.   In violation of the provisions of any law regulating the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles.
   B.   When directed or ordered to proceed by any police officer, member of the fire department or other authorized person.
   C.   Upon the paved, improved or traveled part of any public way when it is practical to park the vehicle off such part of the public way.
   D.   Upon any public way so as to constitute a hazard to public safety or to interfere with the free passage of other vehicles.
   E.   Upon any sidewalk or crosswalk.
   F.   In front of any public or private driveway or so close to it as to prevent vehicles from entering or exiting the driveway.
   G.   Within an intersection.
   H.   Within ten feet (10') of a fire hydrant.
   I.   Within thirty feet (30') of any flashing beacon, traffic control signal, stop sign, yield sign, or sign indicating the direction of travel.
   J.   Within twenty feet (20') of the driveway entrance to any fire station and, if so posted by proper authority, on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within seventy five feet (75') of the entrance.
   K.   On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of any public way.
   L.   Upon any bridge or other elevated structure or within a highway tunnel, or upon the approach to any such structures.
   M.   Upon any boulevard.
   N.   Upon any public way to display any vehicle for sale or exchange. A vehicle shall be deemed so displayed when bearing a sign indicating that it is for sale or exchange.
   O.   Upon any public way for purposes of washing, cleaning or repairing a vehicle, other than making emergency repairs necessary before removal of the vehicle from the public way.
   P.   In such a manner that a vehicle is parked straddling two (2) or more parking spaces when parking spaces have been duly marked.
   Q.   Contrary to any duly erected signs or contrary to any duly placed stall marks, box marks, or other legend or device restricting parking.
   R.   In any duly designated and posted no parking zone. (1982 Code § 5.222)
