A. Power To Regulate: To assist in the direction and control of traffic, for orderly and safe use of city streets and other public ways for vehicular or pedestrian travel, for the protection of city streets and other public ways and for the convenience of the street department in maintaining the city streets and other public ways, the chief of police may establish lanes of traffic, establish stop or yield intersections, establish parking stalls and establish other traffic regulations, to the extent that such regulations are not in conflict with law, this code or provisions of the city council adopted pursuant to this code. B. Traffic Control Devices: To this end, the chief of police may cause the installation of suitable signs, traffic control signals, markings, barricades and other devices.
C. Compliance Required: No person shall fail to obey any sign, marking, barricade or traffic device erected pursuant to such authority. (1982 Code § 5.113)
