1046.33 PIPE QUALITY.
   Storm sewer pipe shall conform with the latest revision of one or more of the following specifications.
   (a)   Concrete Pipe. This material may be used for both storm sewers and building or property storm water drains. It shall comply with ASTM specifications as follows:
      C14-68 Concrete Sewer, Storm Drain and Culvert Pipe;
      C76-68 Reinforced Concrete Culvert, Storm Drain and Sewer Pipe.
   (b)   Corrugated Metal Pipe. This material may be used only under special circumstances when approved in advance in writing by the City Manager.
   (c)   Clay Pipe. This material may be used only for building or property storm water drains and then only in areas not under roadways or driveways subject to heavy (truck) traffic. Such pipe shall comply with the following specifications:
      ASTM C200-69 Extra Strength Clay Pipe
   (d)   PVC Plastic Pipe. This material shall be subject to the same usage limitations given above for clay pipe and shall comply with the following ASTM specifications:
      D2729-68 Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Sewer Pipe and Fittings.
      It shall be installed in accordance with ASTM D2321-67, Underground Installation of Flexible Thermoplastic Sewer Pipe.
   (e)   Cast Iron Pipe. This material shall be subject to the same usage limitations given above for clay pipe and shall comply with the following ASTM specifications:
      A74-66 Cast Iron Soil Pipe and Fittings.
      However, other types of cast iron pipe may be used if they are both rated for the depth of installation in each case and are approved in advance by the City Manager in writing.
