1042.17 GATE WELL MATERIALS.

   Gate wells shall conform to the drawings on file with the City Manager and the following requirements:

   (a)   Walls. Gate wells, where required, shal be brick, block or precast concrete and shall be sized as follows:

   (b)   Bottoms. Bottoms in gate wells shall be at least six inches thick, 3,000 pounds per square inch concrete, extending at least six inches outside the wall of the well. Reinforced precast bottoms may be used if proper bedding is provided.

   (c)   Covers. Gate well covers shall be as per specifications of the Division of Water. The words "Water Div." shall be cast in raised letters around the periphery of the cover.

   (d)   Blocking. Valves in gate wells shall be at least four inches above the floor of the well and shall be blocked with eight mortared bricks or formed concrete.
