Hydrants shall be spaced so that no house is more than 300 feet from a hydrant. Generally, hydrants shall be placed at street corners or on an extension of a side property line and otherwise located to provide the most convenient access for fire-fighting equipment. Hydrants shall be adjusted so that the grade line matches the finish grade. Spacing of hydrants around apartments and commercial and industrial buildings shall be considered on an individual basis. Hydrants shall be installed at the end of all dead-end mains.
