1042.10 DEPTH OF MAINS.

All water mains shall be placed with at least five feet of cover below the finished grade. When necessary for short distances, mains may be installed at greater depths to avoid conflicts with other conduits. Excess depth shall be avoided to minimize maintenance problems.
