Any person who becomes appraised of the death of any animal owned by him or her or in his or her possession within the town limits shall, within 6 hours thereafter, cause the same to be removed outside the limits of the town and buried or disposed of so as not to become a nuisance. When an animal is killed by any person other than its owner or the person otherwise entitled to possession thereof, the animal shall be removed by the person causing the death thereof.
