6C-2-8: MAINTENANCE OF EXTENSIONS:
Water service extensions are the property of and shall be maintained at the expense of the owner of the property served.
   (A)   Repair Of Leaks And Defects; Owner's Responsibility: Any leaks or defects in water service extensions shall be promptly repaired by the owners and if leaks develop in an existing service extension not meeting the requirements of this Chapter, it shall be replaced with a line that does meet such requirements.
   (B)   Failure To Repair Leaks: In case any leak in a water service extension is not promptly repaired, the water supply shall be shut off by the Public Works Department and not turned on again until such leak has been repaired and any expenses incurred by the City in connection therewith has been paid by the owner, occupant or user.
   (C)   Liability Of City: The City shall not be liable for any damage caused by a failure to repair the same promptly, nor shall the City be liable for any damage caused by the repair or installation of such pipes, or damage resulting therefrom. (1978 Code)
