1-11-15: COMPLAINT PROCEDURES:
Any person against whom a complaint has been filed shall be heard by the city administrator in the case of city employees or by a committee of the city council in all other cases. Any such person shall have the right to be represented by counsel, to confront and cross examine all witnesses and to compel the appearance of any city officers or employees who have knowledge of the allegations contained in the complaint.
In the event that the city administrator or the committee of the city council find that a complaint has been sustained, in whole or in part, by a preponderance of the evidence, the city administrator, in the case of city employees, shall take appropriate remedial action. In all other cases, the committee shall recommend remedial action to the full city council which shall take final action. Remedial action may consist of a reprimand, suspension without pay or removal from employment or office where permitted by law. (Ord. 0-44-88, 12-19-1988)
