4-3-14: TEMPORARY SIGNS IN ROUTE 83 CORRIDOR:
For the purposes of this chapter, "temporary signs" shall be defined as below and shall require a permit from the Department of Building and Zoning.
   (A)   Portable signs, pennants, streamers, or other promotional signs specifically approved by the Director of Building and Zoning after showing that the portable signs, pennants, streamers, or other promotional signs are an integral part of the campaign or program for the promotion of a specific product or event, and then only for the location(s) designated by the Director during the fourteen (14) days before and the three (3) days after the event. No more than one portable sign may be included within the temporary promotional signs provided for herein. Said portable sign may not exceed four feet by eight feet (4' x 8') in size, must not employ flashing lights and must be internally illuminated. The Director may, in his discretion, require any application for a temporary sign permit to provide a diagram depicting the number, location, size, and other information identifying any proposed promotional signage. The temporary sign permit provided for by this section may not be granted with respect to any specific lot or parcel more than three (3) times during any twelve (12) consecutive months.
   (B)   Window signs shall be permitted in Commercial Districts subject to the following:
      1.   Area: The sum total of all window identification and window promotional signs shall not exceed forty percent (40%) of the total area of the windows in which they are located. A series of windows which are separated by frames and supporting material of less than six inches (6") in width shall be considered as a single window for the purposes of computation.
      2.   Other: No mechanical or illuminated sign shall be allowed. (Ord. 0-38-94, 9-6-1994)
