1-4-1: GENERAL PENALTY:
Whenever, in any ordinance of the City, passed prior to or subsequent to the date hereto, any act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense, or whenever, in any ordinance the doing of any act is required or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful or an offense, where no specific penalty is provided therefor, violation of any such provision of such ordinance shall be punishable by a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00). A separate offense shall be deemed committed upon each day any violation of the provisions of any ordinance of the City shall continue. At the time that any person is found to have violated any provision of an ordinance of the City by an appropriate branch of the Circuit Court of DuPage County, the person representing the City as legal counsel in such matter or the officer or employee of the City who has brought the charge or testified in the matter shall recommend to the Judge a suggested amount for the imposition of the fine 1 .
