(A) (1) Every person holding a taxicab permit in the town shall have a safety inspection of the taxicab once each month at his or her own expense, by some person or corporation designated by the Town Council, which safety inspection shall cover the condition of the brakes, lights, horn, tires, steering mechanism, windshield wipers, muffler and exhaust system and the condition of all glass in the vehicle.
(2) Any taxicab failing to pass the monthly inspection must immediately repair the same to the satisfaction of the inspection officer or other agent of the town or forfeit the taxicab permit.
(B) No taxicab shall be permitted to regularly operate without a certificate for safety inspection which shall be publicly displayed in each cab.
