§ 30.02  TERMS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS AND CLERK-TREASURER.
   (A)   The elective officers of the town shall be one member from each ward in the town and the Clerk- Treasurer for the town at large.
   (B)   (1)   The Council members shall run from and be elected from the ward in which each trustee resides and all residents of the town, who are otherwise eligible to cast votes in a primary or general election, shall have the right to vote for any member.
      (2)   The Clerk-Treasurer shall be elected at large.
   (C)   The terms of each Council member and of the Clerk-Treasurer shall be four years and the terms of all officers elected at any regular election shall begin at 12 p.m. on January 1 next following their election.
   (D)   (1)   Three Town Council Districts shall be established with boundaries as described below:
         (a)   District  No. 1.  Commencing at a point of beginning at U.S. 36 and East Main St.; thence west along U.S. 36 (Main St.) to South Wayne St.; thence south on Wayne St. to Marion St.; thence east on Marion St. to Cook Ave.; thence south along Cook Ave. to West Mill St.; thence west along West Mill St. to Mackey Road; thence north along Mackey Road to U.S. 36; thence west along U.S. 36 to the west corporate boundary; thence north along the corporate boundary line to the corporate boundary line located just north of Danville North Elementary; thence east along said corporate boundary line to S.R. 39; thence north along the corporate boundary line to the corporate boundary line just north of Woodfield Subdivision; thence east along said corporate boundary line to the east corporate boundary of Blanton Woods; thence south along the corporate boundary line to the corporate boundary line that turns west; thence along said corporate boundary line to Washington St.; thence south along Washington St.; thence south along Washington St. to the corporate boundary line just north of Lawton Ave.; thence north on West Fork White Lick Creek that turns west to Sycamore Ln. and south of Sycamore Ln. to corporate boundary line; thence north on the corporate boundary line; thence west along the corporate boundary line to North County Road 50 East then north along County Road 50 East; thence east on the corporate boundary line north of Wexford; thence north along the corporate boundary line then east along the corporate boundary line that connects to Money Lane; thence south along Money Lane to Sherwood Lane; thence east along Sherwood Dr. To Willow Dr.; thence south along Willow Dr. to Sycamore Lane; thence east along Sycamore Lane to Meadow Dr.; thence south along Meadow Dr. to East Main St.; thence southeast on East Main St. to the commencing point of East Main St. and U.S. 36.

      (2)   A Council member shall be elected at-large from each district and two Council members shall be elected at-large without regard to the districts. The members of the Town Council shall be elected at-large by the voters of the whole town.
   (E)   (1)   Two Council positions shall be subject to election in the year 2002 and every four years thereafter, with one of the two positions being Council District 1 and the other being Council District 3. The remaining three Council positions shall be subject to election in the year 2003 and every four years thereafter, with two of the three positions being at-large positions not representing a specific district and the other one being Council District 2.
      (2)   The terms of Council members elected in 1998 shall continue through the year 2002 and those elected in 1999 shall continue through the year 2003, irrespective of the changes in the number and boundaries of the Council Districts made in 2001. Should any Council position be vacated prior to the end of the aforementioned terms, a replacement chosen to fill the vacancy shall reside in the district the vacating member was elected from and shall serve only for the remainder of that term.
