§ 31.11 ALDERMEN.
   (A)   There shall be two Aldermen elected from each of seven wards of the City. All Aldermen thereafter elected shall hold office for a term of four years. Any vacancy in the office of Alderman shall be filled in the manner provided by law.
   (B)   Each Alderman shall be appointed by the Mayor to serve on at least one oversight committee, with a member of each oversight committee to be appointed as chairman. Memberships and chairmanships shall be equally divided among Aldermen as is reasonably practicable.
   (C)   Other duties and functions of Aldermen shall be as set forth in the Illinois Municipal Code.
   (D)   Commencing from the first regular meeting of the City Council in the month of May, 2019 and thereafter, each Alderman who is elected at or after the general municipal election occurring in April, 2019 and each Alderman who is appointed to fill any vacancy on or after the commencement date shall be paid a salary of $225 per month.
