§ 98.06 MAINTENANCE AND REMOVAL OF TREES.
   (A)   The owner of any lot or parcel of land shall trim or cause to be trimmed all trees and shrubs on his or her property where branches of the trees or shrubs overhang any portion of the street, alley, sidewalk or other public ground. Where branches of the trees or shrubs overhang a sidewalk or other public ground, the branches shall be trimmed so as to have a clear height of seven feet above the sidewalk or other public ground unobstructed by branches. Where branches or the trees or shrubs overhang a street or alley, the branches shall be trimmed so as to have a clear height of ten feet above the surface of the street or alley unobstructed by branches.
   (B)   The property owner shall remove from any tree or shrub which overhangs the sidewalk, street, alley or any other public ground any dead, decaying or broken limbs or branches that are liable to fall thereon. When any tree or shrub which overhangs the sidewalk, street, alley or other public ground is dead, the property owner shall take up or cause to be taken up the dead tree or shrub and remove the same from his or her property.
   (C)   Trees planted in the tree lawn shall be maintained exclusively by the village.
