451.01   OPERATION OF CERTAIN MOTORIZED VEHICLES IN THE VILLAGE.
   (a)   The vehicles described below shall only be operated in accordance with the restrictions established below:

If operator is younger than 16 years old, permitted on the following streets: Dressler Ct., Bletch Ct., E. 72nd Pl., Marcelline Ct., Willowbrook Dr. Operation on sidewalks adjacent to Canal Rd., E. 71st St., E. 49th St., Grant Ave.
Required if operator is younger than 16 years old.
Electric or gas scooters capable of traveling in excess of 15 miles per hour or greater

Electric-powered bicycles
May be operated on public roads in a manner consistent with Chapter 444 of the Codified Ordinances.
Class 1 and Class 2 electric powered bicycles are permitted on park trails. Class 3 bicycles are not permitted on park trails.
Must be worn in compliance with Chapter 444 of the Codified Ordinances.

      (1)   "Class 1 electric bicycle" means a bicycle that is equipped with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than seven hundred fifty watts that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of twenty miles per hour.
      (2)   "Class 2 electric bicycle" means a bicycle that is equipped with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than seven hundred fifty watts that may provide assistance regardless of whether the rider is pedaling and is not capable of providing assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of twenty miles per hour.
      (3)   "Class 3 electric bicycle" means a bicycle that is equipped with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than seven hundred fifty watts that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of twenty-eight miles per hour.
   (b)   In an effort to ensure safety and continuity between the Village's trails and the trails operated by the Cleveland Metroparks, nothing in this Chapter shall be enforced in a manner that is inconsistent with the laws, rules, and restrictions established by the Cleveland Metroparks for the operation of any of the foregoing vehicles on trails operated by the Cleveland Metroparks.
