234.01 POWERS AND DUTIES; STATUS; BENEFITS.
   (a)   There is hereby created the position of Chief Fiscal Officer for the Village. Appointment to this position may be terminated by not less than thirty days' written notice, such notice to be previously authorized by resolution passed by not less than five of all members of the Village Council, to the Chief Fiscal Officer, or upon thirty days' notice by the Chief Fiscal Officer to the Council of such termination.
   (b)   It shall be the duty of the Chief Fiscal Officer, unless otherwise provided, to keep and maintain all of the financial accounts of the Village, prepare necessary financial reports and budgets, serve as the Village tax administrator, maintain the care and custody of all Village investments, issue checks for payroll and other lawful expenses, ensure compliance with standard accounting procedures, and perform all other necessary responsibilities as directed by the Mayor and/or Council.
   (c)   Compensation shall be as set from time to time by Council resolution.
