(a) There is hereby created the position of Assistant Law Director for the Village. Appointment to this position may be terminated by not less than thirty days' written notice, such notice to be previously authorized by resolution passed by not less than five of all members of the Village Council, to the Assistant Law Director, or upon thirty days' notice by the Assistant Law Director to the Council of such termination.
(b) It shall be the duty of the Assistant Law Director, unless otherwise provided, to assist the Law Director in performance of all of his duties under this chapter, including but not limited to preparing all ordinances, resolutions, notices, contracts; furnishing the Village and the officials thereof legal advice on matters relating to the Village and to the powers of the officials; and representing the Village or its officers or employees in all suits or proceedings instituted by or against the Village or its officers or employees in any court of record in the State of Ohio. The Assistant Law Director shall attend meetings of the Council as requested by the Mayor or members of Council.
(c) Compensation shall be as set from time to time by Council resolution.
