All building construction, irrespective of use or occupancy, and except for residential dwellings, shall have a master key “Rapid Entry System” (commonly known as a “Knox Box”) installed and available for use by the Fire Department. Prior to construction, any applicant for a building permit, except for residential dwellings, must provide the Fire Department with a master key for the building and install a “Rapid Entry System” (“Knox Box”) in a location approved by the Fire Department.
