On or before August 31, 2008, and in every month of January of every fourth year thereafter, the Mayor and Village Council shall appoint, as provided for in Section 280.02, eight qualified electors of the Village to be known as a Charter Review Committee. Such Committee shall review and recommend to Village Council, not less than 120 days prior to the next November election, any alterations, revisions, and amendments to the Village Charter as the Committee deems advisable. Village Council may submit to the electors, with or without any change, all such alterations, revisions, and amendments proposed by the Charter Review Committee. Council shall provide for the reasonable expenses of the Charter Review Committee. Because of the challenges presented by the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, the Charter Review Committee scheduled to meet in 2020 shall meet and make recommendations to Village Council, not less than sixty days prior to the November 2021 general election.
