1482.022 RESIDENTIAL SIGNS AND TEMPORARY SIGNS.
   (a)   Residential Real Estate Signs. Residential real estate signs made of durable material, advertising the sale, rental or lease of only the building or premises on which they are maintained shall be permitted, provided that no sign shall exceed 16 square feet in area.
      (1)   Maximum area and number of real estate signs. One temporary real estate ground sign may be permitted advertising the sale, rental or lease of the premises or part of the premises on which the sign is displayed, provided such sign does not exceed 16 square feet in single-face sign area or five feet in height. Such sign shall be located not less than 25 feet from any side lot line or ten feet from any street right-of-way line. Illumination shall not be permitted. All real estate signs in residential districts shall be permitted for a period of only six months, with six-month renewal periods.
   (b)   Temporary Signs. Signs made of non-durable materials shall be considered temporary signs and shall be permitted under the following conditions. Examples of temporary signs may include, but may not be limited to, announcement signs, event signs, professional signs, and political signs.
      (1)   Temporary signs on residential property shall not exceed two square feet in area, and temporary signs on commercial or industrial property or on property used for educational, charitable, or religious purposes, which property is tax exempt, shall not exceed 12 square feet in area.
      (2)   Temporary signs pertaining to an event shall not be permitted more than 60 days prior to the event, and must be removed within five days after the event.
      (3)   Temporary signs not pertaining to an event shall not be permitted for more than 65 days.
      (4)   Any temporary sign which is no longer in good condition shall be removed immediately.
      (5)   Each temporary sign shall bear the name and address of the owner of the sign and the date upon which the sign was posted.
