1426.09 AMENDMENTS.
The National Electrical Code, as adopted in Section 1426.01, is hereby amended as follows:
NEC Article 210. Section 210-19. Conductors - Minimum Ampacity and Size. (Amended)
(c)   Other Loads. Branch-circuit conductors supplying loads other than cooking appliances as covered in (b) above and as listed in Section 210-2 shall have an ampacity sufficient for the loads served and shall not be smaller than No. 12.
Exceptions Nos. 1 and 2 are unchanged.
NEC Article 210. Section 210-70. Lighting Outlets Required. (Amended)
(a)   Dwelling Unit(s). At least one wall switch-controlled lighting outlet shall be installed in every habitable room; in kitchens, toilet rooms, bathrooms, hallways, stairways and attached garages; and at outdoor entrances. Also at least one lighting outlet shall be installed in an attic, underfloor space, utility room or storage areas, and over laundry trays, boilers, furnaces and other central heating devices. Three-way switches shall be provided for all stairways to control lighting outlets illuminating such stairways.
NEC Article 210. Section 210-71. Number of Outlets Required on General Lighting and Small Appliance Branch Circuits of Dwelling Occupancies. (Added)
No more than four duplex receptacle outlets per circuit shall be installed on the required appliance branch circuits and no more than six duplex outlets per circuit shall be installed on other receptacle circuits and no more than ten lighting outlets per circuit shall be installed on the required general lighting circuits.
NEC Article 215. Section 215-2. Minimum Rating and Size. (Amended)
Feeder conductors shall have an ampacity not lower than required to supply the load as computed in Parts B., C. and D. of Article 220. The minimum sizes shall be as specified in (a) and (b) below under the conditions stipulated. Feeder conductors for a one-family dwelling or a mobile home need not be larger than service-entrance conductors. In a multifamily dwelling, each individual apartment of two or more habitable rooms shall be provided with a feeder sized in accordance with Article 220, but in no case shall the feeder be smaller than 60-ampere, three-wire.
Subsections (a) and (b) are unchanged.
NEC Article 220. Table 220-3(b). General Lighting Loads by Occupancies. (Amended)
* Dwelling units (other than hotels)    4 watts.
NEC Article 230. Section 230-41. Size and Rating. (Amended)
(b)   Ungrounded Conductors. Ungrounded conductors shall not be smaller than:
   (1)   100-ampere, three-wire for every 1, 2 and 3 family dwelling unit.
   (2)   60-ampere for other loads.
Exceptions Nos. 1 and 2 are unchanged.
Exception No. 3 shall be amended as follows:
For limited loads of a single branch circuit, No. 12 copper, but in no case smaller than the branch circuit conductors.
NEC Article 230. Section 230-79. Rating of Disconnect. (Amended)
(c)   Dwellings. For all dwelling units, the service equipment shall have a rating of not less than 100 amperes. Where multiple switches or circuit breakers are used, this service equipment shall provide a minimum of 100 amperes of connected over-current protection consisting of not less than 50 ampere, 240 volt, two-pole overcurrent devices.
NEC Article 310. Section 310-2. Conductors. (Amended)
(b)   Conductor Material. Conductors in this article shall be of aluminum, copper-clad aluminum, or copper, except in sizes #14, #12 and #10 which shall be copper only.
