244.06 PARAMEDIC COMPENSATION IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.
   (a)   Members of the Fire Department, excluding the Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief, who have possessed, during the entire calendar year, a current, valid Certificate of Competency in Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic pursuant to Ohio R.C. 4765.30 and 4765.39, as amended, shall be paid an additional fixed amount of compensation, payable in the final pay period of the year, as established by Council.
   (b)   Subject to Section 246.10, if a full-time member of the Fire Department is allowed by the Fire Chief to relinquish his or her paramedic status during the year, the individual shall be paid a pro rata portion of the additional fixed amount of compensation, as established by Council, for that portion of the year during which the individual retained his or her paramedic status.
   (c)   Members of the Fire Department, excluding the Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief, who have maintained a current, valid Emergency Medical Technician-Ambulance Certificate, or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician-Ambulance Certificate, during the calendar year, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 4765.30, 4765.37 and 4765.38, as amended, who are not entitled to receive extra compensation for holding a Paramedic Certificate, shall receive an additional fixed amount of compensation, payable in the final pay period of each year, as established by Council.
