244.03 NONRESIDENT SERVICE.
   (a)   Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 9.60, as amended, the Fire Chief and the officers on duty in charge of the Fire Department are hereby authorized to render the services of the Fire Department to other municipalities, townships, counties or the State in times of emergency, whether or not the Village has entered into mutual aid contracts for fire services with any of those political subdivisions or the State. The determination of times of emergency shall be made only by the Fire Chief or the officers on duty in charge of the Fire Department upon a call for emergency fire protection services by the State or another political subdivision of the State.
   (b)   The personnel of the Fire Department rendering emergency services to other political subdivisions shall, as provided by State law, be entitled to all of their usual wages and benefits, shall be covered by workers' compensation and shall be immune from any liability arising from the reasonable, good faith rendering of emergency fire protection services.
