208.01 MORAL CLAIMS.
Council is hereby authorized to settle moral claims, exclusive of sales tax, made against the Village, with the approval of the Law Director, of not more than three hundred dollars ($300.00) per occurrence. As used in this section, a "moral claim" means a claim against the Village which is legally doubtful or uncertain, but which, in the course of natural justice, should be paid to avoid an unreasonable and undue hardship upon a person who has been caused a loss through no fault of himself or herself, which loss arises out of some act or omission relating to governmental or proprietary activities of the Village.
