Any owner, owner's representative, contract purchaser or occupant of the property violating the provisions of this chapter shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00). The imposition of one penalty for any violation shall not excuse the violation or permit it to continue; and all such persons shall be required to correct or remedy such violation within a reasonable time. Each seven (7) days that prohibited conditions are maintained shall constitute a separate offense. The enforcement of the penalties provided for in this section shall not prevent the enforced removal of the nuisance weeds, and the assessment of the cost thereof, as provided for in section 5-2-5 of this chapter.
