9.06.196 Massage Establishment Sanitary Conditions–Condition of Premises.
   A.   Required Maintenance of Massage Establishment. All premises and facilities of the massage establishment shall be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition and shall be thoroughly cleaned after each day of operation. The premises and facilities shall meet applicable code requirements of the city, including but not limited to, those related to the safety of structures, adequacy of the plumbing, heating, ventilation, and waterproofing of rooms in which showers, water, or steam baths are used.
   B.   Linens. All massage establishments shall provide clean laundered sheets, towels, and other linen in sufficient quantity for use by their clients. Such linens shall be laundered after each use and stored in a sanitary manner. No common use of linens or towels shall be permitted. Heavy white paper may be substituted for sheets on massage tables, provided such paper is used only once for each client and is then discarded into a sanitary receptacle. Containers shall be provided for the storage of all soiled linens.
   C.   Privacy Standards for Massage Rooms, Dressing Rooms, and Restrooms. Dressing rooms and restrooms may only be used by clients of the same sex at the same time. The massage establishment shall provide doors for all dressing rooms and massage rooms. Draw drapes, curtain enclosures, or accordion-pleated enclosures are acceptable in lieu of doors for dressing rooms and massage rooms.
