§ 71.46 GENERAL OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   To operate an animal drawn vehicle on any street, alley, or road within the limits of the town, a driver of such animal drawn vehicle must be at least 16 years and 180 days of age and hold either an identification card issued under I.C. 9-24-16 or a photo exempt identification card issued under I.C. 9-24-16.5 (see I.C. 9-24-1-7 for more information).
   (B)   Operating an animal drawn vehicle is the same as operating a motor vehicle. Operators of said animal drawn vehicles should not operate their vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs as you can be arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in an animal drawn vehicle. Open container laws regarding possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles and in public places shall apply to operators and passengers of animal drawn vehicles as described under I.C. 9-30-15-3 and 9-30-15-4 and Town of Culver Code of Ordinances § 130.03. Indiana Code restricting the use of a telecommunications device while operating a moving motor vehicle shall apply to the operation of an animal drawn vehicle, and will be subject to the same restrictions as under Indiana Code (see I.C. 9-21-8-59 for more information).
