In order to operate a golf cart or an animal drawn vehicle operated for business purposes on any street, alley, or road within the limits of the town, a driver of such a golf cart or animal drawn vehicle operated for business purposes must be at least 16 years of age under state law. Operating a golf cart or animal drawn vehicle operated for business purposes is the same as operating a motor vehicle. Operators of said golf carts or animal drawn vehicles for business purposes should not operate their cart or vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs as they can be arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in a golf cart or animal drawn vehicle. Open container laws regarding possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles and in public places shall apply to operators and passengers of golf carts or animal drawn vehicles for business purposes as described in I.C. 9-30-15-3 and 9-30-15-4, and § 130.03.
