§ 73.01 SNOWMOBILE DEFINED.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      SNOWMOBILE. Any motor-driven vehicle designed for travel primarily on snow or ice of a type that utilizes sled-type runners or skis, an endless belt tread, or any combination of these or other similar means of contact with the surface upon which it is operated, but not a vehicle that must be registered under the Michigan Vehicle Code, M.C.L.A. 257.1 through 257.923.

§ 73.02 TIME AND SPEED LIMITS WITHIN CITY.
   No snowmobile shall be operated within the city limits between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. at a speed greater than 10 miles per hour.

§ 73.03 MUFFLER REQUIRED.
   No snowmobile shall be operated within the city limits without a factory approved muffler in good working order so as not to cause excessive noise or excessive smoke.

§ 73.04 SNOWMOBILES PROHIBITED ON SIDEWALKS.
   No person or persons shall drive or operate a snowmobile on any private property or sidewalk without the consent or permission of the property owner.

§ 73.05 PRESUMPTION OF OWNER AS DRIVER.
   In any proceeding for a violation of any section of this chapter proof that the particular vehicle described in the citation complaint, or warrant together with proof that the defendant named in the citation, complaint, or warrant was at the time of the violation the registered owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence of presumption that the registered owner of the vehicle was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the violation.

§ 73.99 PENALTY.
   Any person convicted of a violation of any section of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and if convicted on a second offense, the minimum fine shall be $25 or a fine not to exceed $100 or imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both at the discretion of the court.
