Every person convicted of a violation of a provision of this chapter shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100 and costs of prosecution, or by imprisonment of not more than 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each act of violation, and every day upon which such a violation shall occur shall constitute a separate offense.
