4-2-4: PERMIT REQUIRED:
Upon the adoption under this chapter of such standards and specifications for the installation, alteration and use of electrical equipment, rules, regulations and fees, the same shall at once become operative, and thereafter no electrical equipment shall be installed or altered except upon a permit issued by the electrical inspector. The electrical inspector shall inspect and shall require that all methods and materials conform to the standards and specifications applicable thereto which have been recommended and adopted as herein provided.
Permits required under this electrical code shall be issued pursuant to section 4-2-8 of this chapter except as hereinafter provided. Any permit required by this code may be issued to a person not so registered to do any work regulated by this code provided that the applicant is the bona fide owner of the dwelling structure or accessory building in which the work is to be performed, that he shall personally be responsible for all work performed in connection therewith, and that all material, workmanship and methods of installation or repair shall meet the requirements of this electrical code; and provided further that the owner shall not take out permits for dwelling structures containing more than four (4) dwelling units, regardless of whether such dwelling units are occupied or unoccupied.
All permits issued for any property shall be copied and filed at village hall. The permit should state the date when a follow up inspection will occur if a follow up inspection is necessary. (Ord. 707, 12-14-2011)
