§ 150.35 DRIVEWAYS IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS.
   (A)   Construction specifications. All residential buildings constructed in R-1 and R-2 Residential Zoning Districts of the village shall have a paved driveway extending from the street to the garage, carport and off-street parking site. The driveways shall be constructed in accordance with the State of Illinois Standard Specifications and the Village of Crestwood Standard Construction Detail Sheet.
   (B)   Time of installation. All driveways required pursuant to this section shall be constructed and completed prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy and prior to the occupancy of the residential dwelling unit or units; however, upon written request by the property owner to the Building Commissioner, accompanied by a cash escrow, as determined by the Building Commissioner, the Commissioner may extend the time for installation and construction of the driveway to a date not more than 180 days from the date of issuance of an occupancy permit. The written request and cash deposit shall provide that the amount deposited shall be returned to the depositor upon proper construction and installation of the aforesaid driveway and in the event of the failure of the property owner and/or occupant to properly complete the driveway installation within the time extended; provided that, the amount be forfeited to the general corporate account of the village.
   (C)   Application of other provisions. The provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and Official Plan of the village, including § 155.53, and all other applicable sections of the village code shall also apply to the necessity for construction of driveways in residential areas.
