§ 76.08 THROUGH, STOP AND YIELD INTERSECTIONS.
   (A)   Through streets.
      (1)   After the operator of a vehicle has stopped at the entrance to a through street, the operator shall yield the right-of-way to other vehicles which have entered the intersection from the through street or which are approaching so closely on the through street as to constitute an immediate hazard, but the operator, having so yielded, may proceed, and the operators of all other vehicles approaching the intersection on the through street shall yield the right-of-way to the vehicles so proceeding into or across the through street.
      (2)   After the operator of a vehicle has stopped in obedience to a stop sign at an intersection where a stop sign is erected at one or more entrances thereto, although not a part of a through street, the operator shall proceed cautiously yielding to vehicles not so obliged to stop which are within the intersection or approaching so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard, but may then proceed.
   (B)   Stop streets. When stop signs are erected as herein provided at or near the entrance to any intersection, every operator of a vehicle shall stop the vehicle at the sign or at a clearly marked stop line before entering the intersection, except when directed to proceed by a police officer.
   (C)   Yield right-of-way intersections. Where preference is given to traffic through any intersection on any roadway and specified entrances to the intersection are designated as yield right-of-way entrances by the erection of yield right-of-way signs, the driver of a vehicle, in obedience to a yield right-of-way sign, shall slow down to a speed reasonable for the existing conditions or shall stop if necessary and shall yield the right-of-way to other vehicles which have entered the intersecting roadway either from the right or left or which are approaching so closely on the intersecting roadway as to constitute an immediate hazard, but the driver having so yielded may proceed at a time as a safe interval occurs.
