§ 50.65 DEPOSIT REQUIRED.
   (A)   A deposit shall be required, as follows, payable to the village, to ensure the payment of all bills, when an application is made for the service supplied by the combined waterworks and sewer system of the village:
      (1)   Single-family residential building users and school district, park district and church users: $100;
      (2)   Apartment buildings: $100 for each and every dwelling unit, as defined by the building ordinances and Zoning Code of the village; and
      (3)   Commercial and industrial users and rest home, shelter care facility, nursing home or hospital users: $150.
   (B)   However, after service has commenced, the water collector may require a user to deposit an additional sum equal to two billing permits for water service and sewer service charges to the user.
   (C)   If any user fails to make the deposit as required by this section, the village may add to the user's water bill the amount of the deposit as required hereby.
   (D)   When service to the applicant is discontinued permanently, the deposit, less any amount still due to the village for water service and/or sewer service charges, shall be refunded without interest. If any depositor entitled to a refund shall fail to apply for a refund within 24 months after the deposit is due, the deposit shall be forfeited to the village.
