§ 35.30 WORK PERIOD.
   (A)   The work period for all members of the Volunteer Part-Time Fire Safety and Rescue Unit shall be 28 consecutive days.
   (B)   The hours of assigned part-time service by members for this volunteer part-time Unit shall not exceed, first, 76 hours during the described 28-days’ work period, and, second, for those members of this Unit who also work for the village in any other position, shall also not exceed the number of hours (subject to the initial limitation of 76 hours) which, when added to the other hours worked for the village by the Unit member, totals more than 212 hours for the described 28-days’ work period, it being the intention of this limitation to restrict the number of hours that may be worked in all positions for the village by any employee, during the described 28-day work period, to the prescribed 212 hours defined for firefighters by the “Federal Fair Labor Standards Act”.
   (C)   Subject to the limitations stated, specific duty hours within a described work period shall be as assigned by the Unit commander or deputy commanders.
   (D)   The hours of this service by Unit members, subject to the limitations stated in this section, shall be as assigned during designated times within the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., as the members may be available for service, subject to time restrictions by reasons of their regular employment.
   (E)   Since Unit members’ services are both voluntary and part-time, no Unit member will be removed from office, or disciplined, solely by reason of this unavailability for service at specified times.
