§ 33.051 MEMBERSHIP; APPOINTMENT; TERMS.
   (A)   The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall consist of three members to be appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of the Board of Trustees. The term of each member shall be three years and until a successor shall be appointed and qualified; provided that, in making the first appointments, the term of one member shall be one year, the second member, two years and the third member, three years. Each term will expire with the end of the fiscal year. No appointment shall be made by the Mayor within 30 days before the expiration of the Mayor’s term of office.
   (B)   One member shall be a representative citizen of the employee class, one member of the employing class and one member not identified with either group. No person shall be appointed who holds a paid office of the United States, the state or of any municipality, and no more than two members shall belong to the same political party.
