(A) International Fire Code (2015 edition) (“IFC 2015") and select National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards (“Select NFPA Codes and Standards”). Three copies of that certain document being marked and designated as IFC 2015 and three copies of that certain document being marked and designated as “Select NFPA Codes and Standards” have been on file with the Village Clerk for 30 days for public use, inspection and examination. The “Select NFPA Codes and Standards” on file with the Village Clerk include the following:
(1) NFPA 10: Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers (2013 edition).
(2) NFPA 13: Standard for Installation of Sprinkler Systems (2016 edition).
(3) NFPA 13D: Standard for Installation of Sprinkler Systems in One- and Two- Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes (2016 edition).
(4) NFPA 13R: Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in Low-Rise Residential Occupancies (2016 edition).
(5) NFPA 14: Standard for Installation of Standpipe and Hose Systems (2016 edition).
(6) NFPA 15: Standard for Water Spray Fixed Systems for Fire Protection (2017 edition).
(7) NFPA 16: Standard for Installation of Foam-Water Sprinkler and Foam-Water Spray Systems (2015 edition).
(8) NFPA 20: Standard for Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection (2016 edition).
(9) NFPA 24: Standard for Installation of Private Fire Service Mains and Their Appurtenances (2016 edition).
(10) NFPA 25: Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems (2017 edition).
(11) NFPA 72: National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code (2016 edition).
(12) NFPA 96: Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations (2017 edition).
(13) NFPA 1123: Code for Fireworks Display (2014 edition).
(14) NFPA 1124: Code for Manufacture, Transportation, Storage of Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles (2017 edition).
(15) NFPA 101: Life Safety Code (2015 edition).
(B) Adoption by reference. Each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the IFC 2015 and the “Select NFPA Standards and Codes” are hereby adopted and expressly incorporated herein by reference as the Crestwood Fire Prevention Code with any deletions, insertions and amendments prescribed herein. To the extent that the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, or terms of the IFC 2015 differ from those of the “Select NFPA Standards and Codes,” the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of the “Select NFPA Standards and Codes” shall apply.
(1) “Under the International Fire Code 1204.31 Perimeter Pathways 1204.2.12 & 1204.2.11 Access and pathways to roof access pathways and spacing requirements shall be provided in accordance with sections 1204.1 through 1204.3.3. Pathways shall be over areas capable of supporting Firefighters accessing the roof pathways shall be located in area without minimal obstructions such as vents, pipes or mechanical equipment. With that being said, the village would like to make an Addendum to the Fire Code Ordinance, that a three foot setback be added to the Code, from the gutters for the ability for safe access to Firefighters.”
(C) Definitions.
(1) Wherever the word MUNICIPALITY appears in the IFC 2015 and/or the “Select NFPA Standards and Codes,” it shall be held to mean the Village of Crestwood, Illinois.
(2) Wherever the term CORPORATION COUNSEL appears in the IFC 2015 and/or the “Select NFPA Standards and Codes,” it shall be held to mean the Attorney for the Village of Crestwood, Illinois.
(3) Wherever the word FIRE OFFICIAL appears in the IFC 2015 and/or the “Select NFPA Standards and Codes,” it shall be held to mean the Crestwood Fire Inspector, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
(4) Wherever the phrase “[name of jurisdiction]” or the word JURISDICTION appear in the IFC 2015 and/or the “Select NFPA Standards and Codes,” they shall be deemed to refer to the Village of Crestwood, Illinois.
(D) Pursuant to 17 Ill. Adm. Code 3730.307(c)(4) and subject to the Illinois Plumbing Code (77 Ill. Adm. Code 890), be it hereby ordained that in the village, all new plumbing fixtures and irrigation controllers installed after the effective date of this section shall bear the WaterSense label (as designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency WaterSense Program), when such fixtures are available.
