§ 33.046 CREATION AND MEMBERSHIP.
   (A)   The Commission on the Status of Women shall consist of seven members. The members shall be appointed by the Mayor initially within 60 days from the effective date of this subchapter. All appointees must be approved by a majority of the Common Council. Of the seven members first appointed, three shall be appointed to serve until January 1, 1978; two until January 1, 1979; and two until January 1, 1980. Thereafter each appointment to the Commission shall be for a term of three years. No more than four appointments shall be from the same political party. In the event of the death or resignation of any member, the successor shall be appointed by the Mayor within 30 days from the date of such vacancy, to serve the unexpired term for which such resigning member had been appointed.
   (B)   It is recommended that at least four of the members of the Commission be women.
   (C)   The Mayor shall call the first meeting of the Commission, at which time a Chairperson shall be selected by and from the members.
